Why is there a higher pending charge on my account than my order total?

The higher amount is a pre-authorisation charge, not an actual deduction. This is a temporary hold placed by your bank to confirm that your card is valid and has enough funds to cover the order. Once the retailer charges you, the correct order amount will appear, and the pre-authorised amount will be released, usually within a few business days.

This adjustment won’t show as a refund, as the funds were never withdrawn, only held during the verification process. Pre-authorisations are a standard banking practice and may occasionally occur with online transactions.
