Why is there a higher pending charge/pre-authorisation charge other than the confirmed order total?
The higher charge is actually a pre-authorisation charge rather than an actual deduction from your account. A pre-authorisation charge is a temporary hold on an amount of the available balance on a credit or debit card. This charge checks that the card is valid and has sufficient funds to cover the transaction. Don't worry - this will be adjusted. If for any reason there's an issue with this, please contact Lyst Customer Care.
When will the correct charge be reflected in my account?
Once the retailer charges you, the correct amount will appear instead of the pre-authorised funds. This adjustment typically takes a few business days.
Why does this not show as a refund?
The correction doesn't appear as a refund, instead the initial pre-authorisation amount is adjusted to reflect the accurate charge. The reason for this is due to the funds never being withdrawn and rather held during the checking process.
Is this a common occurrence?
Pre-authorisations are standard banking procedures and occur occasionally in online transactions, they do not represent an actual charge.
